Enjoy a fun, escorted multi-day trip along the historical path of the gold miners, Highway 49.During the tour we will visit Sacramento, Amador and Calaveras counties, believed by many to be the Heart of the Gold Rush. Your personal Russian-speaking tour guide has many stories of early California to share with you.
We will start our tour by visiting the John Sutter's Fort State Historic Park in the capitol of California, Sacramento. We will take you to the walking tours of the Gold Rush towns of Sutter Creek on American River where the first Californian gold was found and Jackson town. You will see the historic back roads of Amador County; hear the stories of the Gold Rush and hard rock mining.
You will have several opportunities to experience gold and precious stone mining yourselves. We will descend into stalactite caverns, visit an old city of the gold prospectors, Columbia, and a popular cowboy movie set in the city of Sonora. Bring your children along, you won't be concerned how to keep them busy - they will never forget this journey.
